Small Australian Company, Major Training Services, appointed major contractor to Federal Government

On Thursday 23 January 2014, the Federal Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance, Michael McCormack, announced the successful consortiums to provide services to Comcover Fund Member agencies. Major Training Services Pty Ltd (MTS) will be providing insurance and risk management training and education services to Fund Members on behalf of Comcover, while Gallagher Bassett Services was reappointed to provide insurance and risk services. The MTS consortium consists of Janison Solutions Pty Ltd who will provide the cloud based Learning Management System (LMS) and FutureTrain Pty Ltd who will develop online content. The contracts are for an initial three year period.

Mr McCormick congratulated MTS on its appointment and pointed out that “risk management is a core component of efficient and effective public administration”, encouraging “Fund Members to make the most of the risk management training and education services” that will be offered. The introduction of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, which comes into full effect from July 2014, will require the accountable authority in Commonwealth entities to establish and maintain appropriate systems of risk oversight, management and internal control in the governance of their organisation.
